Addressing the opening ceremony on Saturday, Silavonge Khutphaythune, Secretary of the Party Committee and Mayor of Vientiane, said the event contributes to celebrations of the special solidarity between the two countries and cities.

Tat Thanh Cang, Vice Secretary of Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee, said: “The Ho Chi Minh City Days in Vientiane are one of the large-scale programs covering art performances and trade, investment, and tourism seminars. It forges closer ties between the people of the two cities, particularly the young generation and make them better understand the loyalty and neighborliness between Vietnam and Laos.”
