Holy See wants stronger relations with Vietnam

(VOVWORLD) - Under-Secretary for the Holy See’s Relations with States Antoine Camilleri and Deputy Foreign Minister Bui Thanh Son on Thursday discussed issues affecting local Catholics and worked out measures for reinforcing ties.

Camilleri insisted the Holy See wants a dialogue to settle existing issues, boost cooperation, and foster relations.

The same day, Camilleri had a working session with Chairman of the Government Committee for Religious Affairs Vu Chien Thang, who said Vietnam has always created conditions for religions to operate in the framework of the law and ensured people’s freedom of religion and belief.
