India, China to promote bilateral ties

(VOVworld) – China and India have signed 3 Memoranda of Understanding including those on building industrial parks in India and on sharing flood data of Brahmaputra River. These agreements were signed Monday during Indian Vice President Hamid Ansari’s visit to Beijing to take part in the 60th anniversary celebrations of the Panchsheel, The Five Principles of Peaceful Coexistence.

During talks with Chinese President Xi Jinping the same day, Mr Ansari voiced India’s concerns over China continuing to show the state Arunachal Pradesh in Northeast of India in its maps and Beijing's plans to build rail links with Pakistan through Pakistan-occupied Kashmir. Chinese President is due to hold his first meeting with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the sidelines of the BRICS summit (involving Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa) in Brazil in mid this month. Arrangements were on in full swing for President Xi Jinping's visit to New Delhi later this year.
