India, Pakistan cease talks on normalizing trade ties

(VOVworld) – The normalization of India-Pakistan trade ties has been stalled as related talks are halted. Speaking to international media in New Dehi on Friday, Pakistani Minister of Commerce Khurram Dastgir Khan said Islamabad decides not to hold trade talks with India because there would be no trade activities in an unpractical context when the two countries’ foreign ministers do not work together. However, he said Pakistan will conduct further cooperative steps and larger-scale talks with India.

India’s Minister of Industry and Commerce Anand Sharmad postponed his visit to Pakistan to attend an exhibition on India in Pakistan’s Lahore city on Friday because Islamabad failed to put forward the bilateral trade agreement.
