(VOVworld)- The Indian election committee said on Sunday that a 5-stage general election will be held from mid-April until May. About 800 million eligible voters will participate in the coming election. In 2009, only 714 million voted. Election procedures will be announced at the end of February or the beginning of March. 11 million people, half of them security officers, will be deployed to ensure a free, fair and safe election.
