(VOVworld) - Activities are underway across Vietnam to mark International Children’s Day on June 1st. Minister of Health Nguyen Thi Kim Tien yesterday visited disadvantaged child patients at Hanoi’s Central Pediatric Hospital. Presenting gifts to them, the Minister said ‘Complete treatment should include medicine, food and psychotherapy. Psychology plays an important role in patient’s outcomes, especially for critical or chronic diseases. Such factors as will, psychology, music, knowledge, and joy can help child patients recover”.

The Central Pediatric Hospital has established a division to help identify individuals who need medical care and raise public donations for those patients.

Hanoi’s Youth Union held a festival to celebrate Children’s Day and kick off the summer. Scholarships were presented to disadvantaged students who have overcome difficulties to obtain good academic results. Children with disabilities have received gifts on this occasion.
