(VOVworld) – Hundreds of IS gunmen have launched a series of attacks on Iraqi security forces and occupied some areas near an oil refinery in Baiji, in Salahundin province.

The Iraqi army pushed back scores of IS gunmen in attacks on Mkeishifa and Dijla, about 150 km north of Baghdad.
An Iraqi army general and 6 guards were killed in the clash. IS militants also attacked another oil refinery in Ajil, near Tikrit.
