The agreement was signed between Israeli National Infrastructure, Energy, and Water Minister Silvan Shalom and Jordanian Water and Irrigation Minister Hazim el-Naser and witnessed by US diplomats at the two countries. The plan was initiated by a letter of intent signed in Washington in December, 2013, by diplomats of Israel, Jordan, and Palestine.
Mr Shalom said the plan is vital to revitalize Dead Sea and resolve fresh water issue in Jordan, calling it the most important agreement between the two countries since their peace treaty in 1994.
