Fatah delegation in Cairo

(VOVworld) – The Egyptian-brokered ceasefire talks between Israel and the Palestinians will not resume until the second half of November in Cairo. Azzam el-Ahmed, top leader in Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas’s Al-Fatah Party, said in an official statement on Sunday. The talks will focus on some controversial provisions in the deal reached on Sunday with the aim of ending Israel’s 50-day military offensive in Gaza, the opening of the border crossing with Egypt and the lifting of Israel’s blockade of Gaza. The ceasefire deal has potentially helped pave the way for further talks and reconstruction activities.
