Japan invests 38 billion USD in Vietnam

(VOVworld) – A program to promote Japanese investment in Da Nang was held on Sunday.

Vice-chairman of the municipal People’s Committee Dang Viet Dung said the city has many advantages in investment attraction as it is located on the East-West economic corridor and has an abundant labor force, many industrial parks, a convenient transportation system, and a high-tech zone under construction. Dung said: “We want to cooperate with Japanese businesses in support industries, information technology, and high-tech areas in addition to healthcare and building an international hospital and resorts. Da Nang city is committed to facilitating the operations of Japanese and Vietnamese businesses.”

By June, 2015, Japan had become Vietnam’s second largest investor with more than 2,600 projects worth a total of 38 billion USD. 120 of its projects were in Da Nang.
