Experts say the visit aims to deepen Japan’s military cooperation with the US, while strengthening links in several other fields.

PM Kishida is scheduled to attend a summit meeting with President Joe Biden at the White House on Wednesday to discuss the close alliance of the two countries and their cooperation in AI and economics.

During the Japan-US talks, both sides will discuss strengthening global and regional cooperation to implement the free and open Indo-Pacific strategy.

Kishida will address a joint session of the US Congress on Thursday, focusing on the role of Japan and the US in protecting the international order based on liberalism and democracy.
