The move took place one day after Pyongyang claimed successful hydrogen bomb test.

Hagiuda said cooperation between Tokyo and Seoul in information sharing is important to cope with Pyongyang’s nuclear and missile programs more effectively.

He said the bilateral agreement between Japan and the Republic of Korea on wartime sex slaves has provided a foundation for both to increase cooperation in security and trilateral cooperation with the US.
