(VOVWORLD) - Japanese film director Masako Sakata has been honored with Vietnam’s Friendship Order in recognition of her dedication to the campaign “Actions for Vietnamese AO victims”.

At a ceremony on Thursday, Vietnamese Ambassador to Japan Nguyen Quoc Cuong lauded Masako’s two documentaries about Vietnamese AO victims and her "Seed of Hope "fund, which has provided scholarships to more than 100 Vietnamese students who are AO victims. Masako said she hopes her documentaries, which will be screened in France this October, will raise public awareness of AO and its consequences.
