Maeda Tadashi on Friday met Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, who applauded JBIC for its effective and active cooperation and providing loans, especially for the development of important, large-scale infrastructure projects.

The Prime Minister emphasized that one of the top priorities of the two countries is to promote economic relations and that Vietnam has effectively controlled the epidemic, continued to stabilize the macro-economy, controlled inflation, ensured major balances, and improved the business investment environment. Vietnam expects Japanese investors to continue doing business in the country, he said.

Prime Minister Chinh suggested that in the spirit of "affection, sincerity, reliability, and efficiency" Japan and JBIC continue to help Vietnam to build a fast, sustainable and large-scale economy, which is independent, self-reliant, and associated with proactive and substantive international integration.

He asked for support for policy consultation, capital, technology, and management experience to develop the renewable energy industry, strategic infrastructure, especially transport infrastructure, climate change response, digital transformation, and green growth.
