(VOVworld)-The People’s Supreme Procuracy has reviewed the implementation of the 2002 law on the organization of the procuracy service and the 2003 criminal procedure code.

Addressing the meeting in Hanoi on Thursday, President Truong Tan Sang, head of the judicial reform steering committee said that in the context of complicated crime and legal violation situation, the judicial agency must be a firm reliance for the public in the protection of justice and human rights as well as the socialist rule of law. He praised the importance of amendments to the laws on procuracy organization and criminal procedure:“The two codes are crucial in the organization and performance of judicial agencies and the People’s Supreme Procuracy, especially relating to civic capture, detention release and judgment. It’s necessary to have a complete review and analysis of the codes’ enforcement to identify appropriate amendments in line with the Party guidelines and current context.”The President called for a politically and legally strong personnel resource in the judicial sector, especially the quality of procurators.
