Karzai urges Pakistan to step up fight against terrorism

Afghani President Karzai is seeking Pakistani cooperation to fight terrorism. The Afghan leader was speaking at a press conference with visiting NATO Secretary-General Anders Fogh Rasmussen. He said that Pakistan has had to bear many terrorist attacks including bloody conflicts in Quetta and Karachi. Rasmussen repeated his call for the Pakistani government and military to step up the fight against terrorism and extremism in the border region between Pakistan and Afghanistan. Rasmussen urged the Afghani government to ensure transparency in the 2014 Parliamentary Election.
