Tran Nhan Tong was honored as King-Monk when he ceded his throne in the late 13th century to lead a religious life and founded Vietnamese Zen Buddhism.

On this occasion, the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha inaugurated the Truc Lam Yen Tu Palace, a spiritual and cultural work in Uong Bi City.

"The work bears the cultural imprint of the Tran dynasty and Truc Lam Buddhism, creating a highlight of the Yen Tu heritage site. It serves as a bridge connecting the past, present, and future," said Venerable Thich Dao Hien, Deputy Head of the Executive Committee and Secretary-General of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha in Quang Ninh province.

The Truc Lam Yen Tu Palace covers 6,000 square meters with a capacity of 5,000 people in phase 1. It is a venue to honor the values of Truc Lam Buddhism, organize commemorative events, festivals, seminars, and cultural activities related to Buddhism.
