Kon Tum celebrates 50 years of liberation

(VOVWORLD) -Kon Tum province held a ceremony on Sunday to mark its 50th Liberation Day, March 16, an event that contributed significantly to the victory of the 1975 Spring General Offensive and Uprising that finally liberated the south and reunified the country.

 Le Ngoc Tuan, Chairman of the Kon Tum provincial People's Committee, addressed the ceremony:

"The war has been over for 50 years, but the heroic feats linked to the names of villages, mountains, and rivers and the noble sacrifices of generations of our predecessors are forever engraved in the history of Vietnam and its people."

Attending the ceremony were revolutionary veterans, heroic Vietnamese mothers, heroes of the People's Armed Forces, and leaders of the Lao provinces of Attapeu, Sekong, and Champasak Salavan and the Cambodian provinces of Rattanakiri and Stungtreng.
