(VOVworld)- A ceremony to mark the 40^th anniversary of the victory of Dakto-Tan Canh took place today/Tuesday in the central highlands province of Kon Tum. In the spring of 1972, a Division of the People's Army of Vietnam in cooperation with the local army of Kon Tum conducted a series of attacks in western Kon Tum Province.

Their victory helped liberate tens of thousands of ethnic minority people in Kon Tum province. On this occasion, the province was awarded the 3^rd Independence Medal by the State President. 60-year-old A Gieng from Dakto Town spoke at the event: "I am very happy to see the development of Dakto in particular and of our country in general. Over the past 40 years, the local socio-economy of Dak to has much improved under the leadership of the party and the state."
