Koreas gain US sanctions exemption for joint rail survey

(VOVWORLD) - Yonhap News on Sunday reported that the inter-Korean railroad survey project has been exempted from US and UN Security Council sanctions.

South Korea can now bring a certain amount of fuel and equipment to North Korea to conduct the survey.

The plan is to modernize North Korea’s outdated railways and roads and reconnect them with the South. This was one of the many agreements reached by North Korean leader Kim Jong-un and South Korean President Moon Jae-in, who have met three times this year.
