The sixth round of talks between Kosovo and Serbia began on Monday in Brussels to normalize relations between the two sides. Prime Ministers of Serbia and Kosovo - as well as High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy participated in the talks. They discussed concerns the Serbian municipalities in North Kosovo. Belgrade has been urging Pristina to agree to the establishment of an association of Serb municipalities that would have strong connections with Serbia while Pristina is absolutely against the idea. Serbian Foreign Minister said this is the crucial condition for Belgrade to normalize relations with Pristina whereas Kosovo rejected Belgrade’s point of view since it “violates its sovereignty”. Meanwhile, EU Foreign Affairs’ Press Secretary, Maja Kosjjancic, said that talks between Kosovo and Serbia are at a key point and both sides need to make mutual concessions for the sake of an agreement.
