Phong addressed an investment, trade and tourism promotion conference held in New Delhi on Tuesday by the Vietnamese Embassy in India and the People's Committee of Lao Cai province. He said Lao Cai wants the business community of both sides to capitalize on advantages, connect and cooperate for socio-economic development.

“Lao Cai organizes this event with the expectation of unlocking the province's advantages in industry, tourism and border gates. In addition, there is temperate agriculture and pharmaceutical processing. Through the investment promotion campaign, we would like to introduce the image of Lao Cai and the country and people of Vietnam in general to Indian friends," said Phong.

Provincial authority hope to soon welcome a wave of Indian investors and businesses, with big corporations playing the leading role in building a pharmaceutical processing industrial park in Lao Cai.

At the event, six Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the departments, associations and enterprises of Lao Cai and the associations and Chambers of Commerce and Industry of India.
