Speaking at the event, Prime Minister Siphandone expressed appreciation for the Vietnamese government's support in facilitating Laos’ access to Vung Ang Port, saying this has significantly benefited Laos, transforming it from a landlocked nation into one with direct sea access, thus contributing to remarkable growth in bilateral trade, particularly in agricultural, mineral, and electricity exports.

He also acknowledged the crucial role of Vietnamese defense and security enterprises, especially Saigon Newport Corporation, in fostering economic ties through trade connection seminars and other initiatives for businesses operating in Laos.

Prime Minister Siphandone said Laos is currently pursuing a policy of economic independence and self-reliance and that his visit to Saigon Newport Corporation provided valuable insights into port management, operations, and logistics services, which will aid Laos in enhancing its import-export activities and overall economic development.
