(VOVworld) - Hassan Alsaghir, Deputy Foreign Minister of Libya's internationally recognized government, was kidnapped by unknown gunmen on Sunday in the eastern city of Beida.

No group has claimed responsibility. Libya is facing escalating violence and political deadlock with two governments and parliaments and a number of armed factions. Libya’s internationally recognized government moved to Al Beida city from Tripoli, Libya’s traditional capital.
