(VOVworld) – Nguyen Ba Thanh, Head of the Party Central Committee’s Internal Affairs Commission, returned to Vietnam on Friday after having medical treatment in the US. He is hospitalized at Da Nang hospital according to his family’s request.

The Central Council of Professors, the Central Commission of Health Care for Senior Officials, and Da Nang doctors held a medical consultation on Nguyen Ba Thanh’s health. Doctors, who treated Mr. Thanh in the US, reported about the treatment regimen for Mr. Thanh in Singapore and the US. Mr. Thanh’s blood indicators have been stable.
Nguyen Quoc Trieu, Head of the Central Commission of Health Care for Senior Officials, said: “Nguyen Ba Thanh is conscious and his health is stable. Next week the army’s traditional medicine service will get involved in the treatment under the direction of the Central Council of Professors. The professors and doctors have prepared and will have the best treatment regimen soon.”

Nguyen Ba Thanh, who is also a Party Central Committee member, fell ill in May 2014. He was diagnosed with bone marrow disorder and initially received treatment at the Central Military Hospital 108 in Hanoi.
