(VOVworld) - President of Vietnam Fatherland Front Nguyen Thien Nhan has praised the role by women in national construction and patriotic movements. Speaking at a ceremony to mark International Women’s Day in Hanoi on Saturday, Nhan said national history is attached to names and fames of various women generations.

He said their glorious success in revolutionary struggle has enriched the national tradition: “Vietnamese women have shown their talents in renovation, contributing to national development, and confirming their position in society. They have made outstanding progress in many areas, including politics, economic development, culture, and education.”
On this occasion, Kovalevskaida prizes were awarded to Professor Doctor Nguyen Thi Kim Lan, former deputy rector of Thai Nguyen University of Agriculture and Forestry and a group of researchers in Hanoi University of Medicine.
