(VOVworld) – A meeting to mark 50th anniversary of the Ham Rong victory was held on Friday in Thanh Hoa province. 50 years ago, the people and army of Thanh Hoa managed to shoot down 47 US air planes to protect Ham Rong bridge, which was used to transport weapons and aid to the South.
At the meeting, young people in the province confirmed their determination to continue their predecessors’ tradition, with practical activities to develop the economy. The Ham Rong victory was significant in its contribution to the victory of the Spring Offensive and to eventual National Reunification on April 30th, 1975.
