(VOVworld) - More than 100 South Koreans left Thursday for Mount Kumgang resort on North Korea's east coast to enjoy their first reunions with relatives from the north since the Korean War 60 years ago.

The South’s delegation included 82 elderly South Koreans, accompanied by 58 family members, who received medical checkups and training on do's and don'ts for their trip to the North.

Participants will meet with North Korean family members until Saturday over the course of six events, beginning with a group reunion at 3 p.m. Thursday. They will spend a total of 11 hours together. In the evening, they will attend a welcoming ceremony held by Pyongyang.
