NA Chairman launches new academic year at Police Academy

(VOVworld)- National Assembly Chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung on Monday attended a ceremony launching the 2014-2015 academic year at the Hanoi-based People’s Police Academy. This year, the academy enrolled more than 1,000 freshmen, nearly 400 postgraduates and over 400 officers from Vietnam and other countries.

Addressing the ceremony, Chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung stressed the utmost importance of ensuring political stability, national security, social order and safety in national construction and defence. He highlighted the vital missions tasked to police forces amidst the complicated security situation. Hung said:“The People’s Police Academy and Police colleges need to strengthen their reforms in line with the Party’s resolution on comprehensive educational reform and the Strategy on national construction and defense in the new context. It’s necessary to strengthen the Academy’s strength in terms of politics and organization, improve education and training quality and increase the effectiveness of scientific and technological research activities in order to give valuable security-related advice to the Party, State and the Ministry of Public Security”.
