NA Chairman meets Chinese front leader

(VOVWORLD) - National Assembly (NA) Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue has urged Vietnam and China to maintain regular high-level exchanges and contacts to enhance their bilateral trade ties in a balanced and sustainable manner. He also urged strengthening road and railway connectivity.

At a meeting with Wang Huning, Chairman of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) National Committee, in Beijing on Tuesday as part of his ongoing official visit to China, Mr. Hue called on Chinese firms to invest in large-scale, high-quality projects, particularly in the fields of green growth, the digital economy, digital data processing, climate change response, and environmental protection.

Mr. Hue also emphasized the need to utilize the two countries’ great potential for collaborating on tourism, while facilitating friendship exchanges and meetings between residents of both countries.

For his part, Chairman Wang said the two countries should expand their economic, trade, and investment cooperation, connect their transportation infrastructure, build ‘smart’ border gates, and enhance cooperation in the areas of new energy, key minerals, science, high technology, education, vocational training, while improving cooperation between localities. He said China is ready to work with the Vietnam Fatherland Front to increase exchanges in these areas, while cooperating and sharing their experiences.

The same day, Chairman Hue attended a ceremony to mark the 30th anniversary of the Vietnam-China flight route and welcome the 100,000th flight of national flag carrier Vietnam Airlines to China.
