NA Chairman receives President of Japan’s House of Councilors
(VOVworld) – National Assembly chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung has called on Japan’s House of Councilors to lobby the Japanese government to maintain its ODA for Vietnam.

At reception for President of Japan’s House of Councilors Yamazaki Masaaki on Monday he said that Japan’s ODA will help Vietnam achieve sustainable growth and become an industrial nation. Mr. Hung said he hopes increased legislative cooperation will help protect national sovereignty and territorial integrity in line with international law, particularly the 1982 UN Convention on the Law of the Sea and the Declaration on the Conduct of Parties in the East Sea.
Mr. Masaaki thanked Vietnam’s support for Japanese people in the Tsunami and earthquake in 2011. He said he and Japan’s House of Councilors want to contribute more to the strategic partnership between the two countries.
The two leaders agreed to maintain the exchange of high level visits and contacts and increase cooperation between legislative agencies. They also pledged to foster cooperation at regional and global forums.
