National Assembly Chairman’s activities in the Republic of Korea

(VOVworld) – National Assembly Chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung on Tuesday paid a courtesy visit to Republic of Korea President Park Geun Hye as part of his on going official visit there. Chairman Hung congratulated the Korean president on her election and conveyed President Truong Tan Sang’s invitation to his Korean counterpart to visit Vietnam to discuss ways of fostering ties between the two countries. Chairman Hung said the government and people of Vietnam always attached great importance to boosting friendship, cooperation and a strategic partnership with the Republic of Korea, contributing to peace, cooperation and development in Asia-Pacific and the world over.

President Park Geun Hye praised Vietnam’s achievements in recent years and the spirit of cooperation between the two countries, particularly when it was elevated to the level of strategic partnership in 2009. The two leaders agreed to continue the exchange of visits and bolster cooperation in investment, trade, labor and tourism and to create favorable conditions for businesses to seek partners and investment opportunities.

On the same day, Chairman Hung visited Yongin City Council where he expressed his hope that the city would share its development experiences with Vietnamese localities and encourage its businesses to invest in Vietnam. Chairman Hung also confirmed that the government of Vietnam always tries to create the best possible conditions to attract foreign businesses including those from the Republic of Korea to invest in Vietnam. Earlier, Hung told Kumho Asiana and Lotte executives at a reception in Seoul that leading RoK economic groups, including Kumho Asiana and Lotte, have made a significant contribution to strengthening the strategic cooperation partnership between Vietnam and the RoK. He expressed his hope that Kumho Asiana and Lotte will continue expanding their investment in Vietnam’s aviation, transport, tyre manufacturing, construction, and services industries, while paying attention to human resource training and technology transfer to their Vietnamese counterparts. He thanked the two groups for having been involved in various social and cultural programs in Vietnam, including establishing a scholarship fund and building compassionate houses for needy people in Vietnam, with a total cost of up to millions of US dollars.
