National Assembly promulgates resolution to support those affected by COVID-19

(VOVWORLD) - National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue has just signed and promulgated Resolution No.406 on solutions to support businesses and individuals affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.

The resolution stipulates a 30% reduction in the payable corporate income tax amount of 2021 for taxpayers subject to the provisions of the Law on Corporate Income Tax, who have a revenue of not more than VND 200 billion (8.8 million USD) in 2021 and a decrease in 2021 revenue compared to their 2019 revenue.

Exemption from personal income tax, value-added tax and other payable taxes arising from production and business activities of the months in the third and fourth quarters of 2021 for households and individuals engaged in production and business activities in district-level areas affected by the pandemic in 2021 shall be decided by the Chairman of the People's Committee of a province or centrally run city.

Tax exemption does not apply to incomes or revenue from providing software products and services; digital information content products and services of entertainment, video games, digital movies, digital photos, digital music; digital advertising.

Value-added tax will be reduced from November 1, 2021 to December 31, 2021 for a number of specific goods and services.

Exemption applies to late payment in 2020 and 2021 of debts of tax, land use levy and land rent for enterprises and organizations (including dependent units and business locations) loss arising in 2020.

The National Assembly resolution has taken effect since October 19, 2021.
