At the end of the Q&A session, the Prime Minister said that despite the COVID-19 pandemic and natural disasters, Vietnam still succeeded in generating 1.2 trillion USD over the last 5 years and is considered one of the 12 most successful emerging economies. Over the past 6 years, Vietnam has created 28 million new jobs. In 2020, Vietnam has one of the world’s highest growth rates, said Mr. Phuc.

In the current term, Vietnam has fulfilled its role as ASEAN Chair and non- permanent member of the UN Security Council. Prime Minister Phuc talked about the dual task of epidemic prevention and economic development, “The COVID-19 pandemic is still spreading around the world. Vietnam has set a target of containing the epidemic while maintaining economic growth and social security. It is essential to build a self-sufficient economy to meet domestic demand while effectively exploiting international markets."

"Vietnam’s trade surplus has reached 20 billion USD. We are maintaining agricultural production while developing industry and services, the digital economy, and tourism. We need more IT in our development efforts,” he said.

National Assembly Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan said that during this Q&A session, 41 cabinet members answered questions from 122 deputies.

“The Q&A session took place in a democratic and transparent manner, dealing with issues raised by the NA deputies and the concerns of voters. The cabinet members gave clear answers, pointed out shortcomings, and recommended specific measures to address the shortcomings,” said Ms. Ngan.
