Hosted by the Vietnam Farmers' Union and the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, the forum is themed "Listening to Farmers Talk."

High on the agenda were recovery efforts from Typhoon Yagi, debt relief, and the need for extended bank loans, and new preferential financing options to help restore agricultural production.

Participants also discussed policies promoting green, sustainable agriculture, the need for better market information, production planning, and strategies for building and promoting agricultural product brands on digital platforms.

Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Le Minh Hoan stressed the importance of strengthening production linkages and value chains in agriculture. He called on farmers to adopt new thinking to align with modern agricultural practices, which would increase value across each production area.

Luong Quoc Doan, Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Farmers' Union, highlighted the focus on changing farmers' perceptions of the collective economy. This shift, he noted, is one of the three breakthrough tasks set by the 8th Congress of the Union.

“It’s important to change the awareness about the economy including the cooperative economy. The development of a collective economy remains a challenge in many regions, but it is a focal task we are committed to implementing,” said Mr. Doan.
