National fund established to eradicate makeshift, dilapidated houses

(VOVWORLD) -Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh on Tuesday signed a decision on the establishment of a national fund aiming to jointly eradicate makeshift and dilapidated houses for poor and near-poor households.

The fund, managed by the Ministry of Finance, will receive, manage, and use money donated by domestic and international organizations, individuals, and other legal sources in accordance with laws.

The non-profit fund is entitled to use money for the right purpose and in accordance with the law, ensuring publicity, transparency, and efficiency. 

In April 2024, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh called on organizations and individuals at home and abroad to respond to the movement to join hands in "eliminating makeshift, dilapidated houses " nationwide until 2025 in many different ways and as much as they can.  

“The emulation movement we are organizing today aims raise funds to build and repair 170,000 houses for poor and near-poor households across the country from now until the end 2025," he said.
