National workshop on Vietnam’s East Sea policies

(VOVWORLD) - The 3rd national workshop to update information on the East Sea situation and Vietnam’s policies took place in Ha Long city, Quang Ninh province on Wednesday.

Addressing the event, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Pham Quang Vinh said the rivalry between major countries in the East Sea have become more complicated and caused unpredictable impacts, thus affecting the building of and adherence to the shared code of conduct to maintain security, peace, and stability in the region. Mr. Vinh stressed the need to regularly update developments in the East Sea to recommend appropriate response policies.

Participants delivered speeches on he East Sea issue in the regional order and the implementation of a resolution on Vietnam’s maritime strategy until 2030, legal issues related to the East Sea, peaceful solutions to international disputes, and  opportunities for cooperation between countries.
