(VOVworld)- Large-scale NATO military exercises involving 2,000 troops from its member countries began in Lithuania on Monday.

This is the largest exercise this year and will end on November 20. The exercises intend to help improve the combat capacity and cooperation between NATO agencies in defense and attack operations. Also on Monday, a joint maneuver between the Latvian army and NATO’s Task Force began in the country. The maneuvers involve 1,000 troops, of whom 500 are foreign soldiers. The exercise will last until November 17.
