The bridge over the Hau river is expected to shorten the travel distance between HCM city and 3 southern coastal province of Ca Mau, Soc Trang, and Bac Lieu by 80km.

PM Chinh urged parties involved to ensure the project’s progress and stable livelihoods for people to be relocated.

The 330 million USD bridge linking Soc Trang and Tra Vinh provinces will have four lanes and allow a maximum speed of 80 kph.

Once completed by 2025, it will improve the capacity of the Mekong Delta’s transport network, facilitate travel between the region and HCM city, ease the traffic overload facing National Highway 1, and meet rising travel demand after some local economic zones are put into service.
