New Year get-togethers for diplomatic corps, foreign organizations

(VOV) – The Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations (VUFO) on Friday hosted a New Year get-together with representatives from diplomatic corps, and foreign organizations in Hanoi. Vice President Nguyen Thi Doan extended her New Year greetings to delegates and hoped for flourishing friendship between Vietnam and foreign countries and organizations. She said VUFO’s achievement in 2012 helped realize the Party and the State’s policies of boosting friendship and mutual understanding between the people of Vietnam and the rest of the world. 

The same day, the Foreign Ministry and the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism coordinated with the Hanoi Municipal People’s Committee hosted a New Year get-together for diplomatic corps in Hanoi.

Addressing the meeting, Foreign Minister Pham Binh Minh noted that the Vietnamese Party’s and State’s external activities have helped promote international friendship and cooperation in a regional and global context abounding with both challenges and opportunities.

Minister of Culture, Sports, and Tourism Hoang Anh Tuan, and Hanoi Municipal People’s Committee Chairman Pham The Thao were present at the function.

On this occasion, Minister of Pubic Security Tran Dai Quang met with foreign partners to forge closer ties, contributing to political stability and social order for the benefits of the people all over the world.
