(VOVworld) – New Zealand Prime Minister John Key has announced his country would invest more than 130 million USD in ASEAN in the next 3 years.

The announcement was made in the framework of the 27^th ASEAN Summit and related meetings on Sunday. This is part of an agreement to upgrade New Zealand-ASEAN relations to strategic partnership. The investment disbursed in 3 years will mainly focus on building people’s capacity and creating links between leaders and entrepreneurs. Prime Minister John Key expressed his belief that with the population of 625 million and GDP of around 5.2 trillion USD by 2030, ASEAN will bring great opportunities for New Zealand.
