(VOVworld) - The Republic of Korea hasn’t record any new cases of Middle East respiratory syndrome coronavirus (MERS-CoV) in the past 5 days nor any deaths in the past 2 days.

Korea’s Health Ministry said Friday that the total number of MERS cases remains 186 with 35 fatalities.

The Korean government could declare the end of the epidemic by the end of this month.

More than two thirds of suspected MERS cases have been discharged from the hospital following complete recovery.
