North Korea plans to launch satellite

(VOVWORLD) - North Korea has notified Japan it plans to launch a rocket carrying a satellite toward the Yellow Sea and east of Luzon Island between May 27 and June 4, the Japan Coast Guard said Monday.

The Coast Guard identified three danger zones at sea where missile debris is expected to fall. Two of these are west of the Korean peninsula, while the third is east of Luzon Island in the Philippines. Pyongyang has not officially confirmed this plan.

North Korea launched the Malligyong-1 missile last year following two failed tests in May and August. It has been reported that North Korea is planning to launch three more spy satellites into orbit this year.
