Speaking to Vietnamese correspondents regarding potential cooperation in nuclear power following Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin's visit to Vietnam,  Mr. Lavrov said if the two sides agree on the building of a nuclear power plant, this will be a fruitful result of the Russian Prime Minister’s visit.

Besides, the project, he said, will add a high-tech component to the bilateral cooperation, noting it could complement existing joint ventures in oil and gas, including the successful collaboration through Rusviet and Vietsovpetro.

The foreign minister also praised Vietnam's willingness to provide a secure negotiation venue for Russia and its partners, including discussions on resolving the Ukraine crisis.
