Oil tanker Sunrise 689 arrives in Ba Ria – Vung Tau

(VOVworld) -  The ship Sunrise 689, owned by the Hai Phong Seafood Shipbuilding Joint Stock Company, which was reportedly attacked by pirates and lost contact after leaving Singapore for Vietnam on October 2, is scheduled to arrive in Ba Ria – Vung Tau on Friday evening.

Major General Nguyen Van Tuong, Political Commissar of the Vietnam Marine Police Command, revealed the information on Thursday. After receiving a call from the captain of the pirated oil tanker, the Vietnam Marine Police identified the ship’s location, which was about 80 nautical miles northwest of Hon Khai island in Ca Mau province. Two rescue ships of the Vietnam Marine Police were sent to Sunrise 689 to provide first-aid for its injured sailors. The rescuers took photos of the ship’s damage and guided it to shore.
