(VOVWORLD) - Vietnam reported one new community infection of COVID-19 on Friday morning after recording 56 such cases Thursday night.
The Health Ministry said that the latest patient, a man from the central province of Thanh Hoa, had close contact with a Chinese expert who earlier tested positive for the novel coronavirus.
Vietnam’s total count of COVID-19 cases now stands at 3,091. More than 2,500 patients have recovered an 35 have died.
