The office establishment is part of a project is funded by the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) to enhance Vietnam’s capacity in supporting returning migrant and their families' sustainable re-integration into local society.

Vietnam Women's Union Vice President Bui Thi Hoa said every year, about half a million Vietnamese workers go abroad, of which female workers account for about 30% and tens of thousands of Vietnamese citizens marry foreigners, of whom over 90% are women.

In addition to the great successes and contributions brought about by migration, many women, after returning home, face difficulties in finding jobs, completing legal procedures, and issues related to children, and reintegrating into the community, said Hoa.

She asked the managing unit behind the office to study the demand of returning migrant women and optimize the operation of the facility, making it a reliable address for the women and their families.
