(VOVworld) – A ceremony was held on Saturday to honor outstanding businesses in new rural development. It was also aimed at increasing the social responsibility of businesses in agricultural and rural development. In his address, Deputy Prime Minister Vu Van Ninh said that after 5 years, the national target program on new rural development has become a strong national movement with positive outcomes. He said that businesses have helped many localities achieve criteria of the new rural development program: “New rural development is a responsibility and an important task of the entire political system and society. Central ministries and localities should review the 5-year implementation process and propose specific measures to the government to further encourage businesses to invest in agriculture and rural development.”

Mr. Ninh and Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Cao Duc Phat presented the Prime Minister’s Certificate of Merit to 65 outstanding businesses and 31 entrepreneurs, who contributed significantly to the new rural development movement over the last 5 years.
