Outstanding ethnic individuals in HCMC honored

(VOVworld) – Outstanding individuals of ethnic minority groups in Ho Chi Minh City were honored at Sunday’s spring gathering for their contributions to movements launched by the municipal administration, Fatherland Front, and social organizations.

Cham awardee, Musa Phuong, said: “Cham people will continue to accompany other ethnic groups in the city to strictly abide by the Party and state policy and laws. We’ll proactively participate in economic, social, and cultural development activities and in solidarity building movements toward making Ho Chi Minh City more prosperous and civilized.”

Ho Chi Minh City is home to more than 4,000 people of 51 ethnic minority groups, accounting for 6.1% of the city’s population. Chinese ethnic people make up the largest proportion with 410,000 people.
