The Vietnamese Embassy in New Zealand also held a year-end meeting for more than 300 Vietnamese residents in anticipation of the lunar New Year holiday. Ambassador Nguyen Hong Cuong informed Vietnamese nationals about Vietnam's prominent achievements in its national construction and defence cause, despite numerous difficulties and challenges. He called on them to give opinions on the draft revisions to the 1992 Constitution. Cuong stressed the unswerving policy of the Party and State that overseas Vietnamese are an indispensable part of the Vietnamese community so they always receive favorable conditions to come back and do business in the homeland. He expressed his hope that overseas Vietnamese in New Zealand will strengthen their solidarity, preserve and promote the national culture, and help boost the two countries’ friendship and cooperation.
